Adding animations in Adobe Captivate is a straightforward process. Here’s a step-by-step guide:
Selecting objects to animate:
Choose the object you want to animate on your slide.
Ensure the object is properly positioned before applying the animation.
For example, the image component is selected to apply the animation below.
Applying effects:
Navigate to the Animation tab in the properties panel.
Select an animation effect from the menu. Options include entrance, exit, and emphasis effects.
Adjusting timings:
Use the Settings sections to adjust the timing and duration of your animation and has the following parameters:
Duration: Set the length of the animation (in seconds).
Delay: Set the amount of time to wait before the animation starts.
Acceleration: Set a transition animation on an object to change speed over its duration.
Dim after animation: Select the checkbox to dim the image after the animation ends.
Repeat: Set the number of times the object animates. This option is only applicable to Emphasis
Selecting animation:
Hover on any animation in the Entrance For example, select Scale in. This adds a zooming-in animation to the image. You can view the animation on the slide after you select it.
Similarly, you can select any animation from the Emphasis and Exit tabs to add different effects on the selected objects.
Note: The animations for text aren’t the same as for images. For example, the Typewriter animation in the Entrance animation is only available for text.
Adjusting directions:
After selecting an animation, select the direction in the Options The directions are different for each animation.
Select the Blur checkbox to apply the blur on the image.
Previewing animations:
Always preview your slide to ensure the animation looks as intended.
Use the Test option to see the animation in action within the context of the entire slide.
Adding more animations:
To apply more than one animation to any selected object, hit Add New Animation Note that this option is available under the Emphasis tab only.

Select the button and navigate to the Interactions tab in the properties panel.

Selecting target object to animate:
Once you choose Apply animation, the target options will pop up.
Select the object to which you want to apply the animation. In this case, select the image.
Click Next button to continue.
Animating object:
Select an animation and its direction. The three animation tabs, Entrance, Emphasis, and Exit, are not visible here.
In the Settings section, specify the values as required.
Click the Done Button.
Step-by-Step Guide to Copy and Paste an Animation
After applying an animation to an object, you can apply the same animation to another object. Note that this applies to Emphasis animation only.
Copying animations:
There are two methods of copying animations from the object:
Method 1:
In the Animation panel, select the Emphasis tab; you will find a number of animations applied to the selected object.
Select the ellipsis icon and select Copy animation from dropdown.
Select Duplicate from the dropdown to duplicate the same animation to the same object again.
Select Delete from the dropdown to delete the selected animation from the object.
Method 2:
Right-click the object from which you want to copy the animation. This method copies every type of animation applied under each category: Entrance, Emphasis, and Exit.
Select Copy Animations.
Pasting animations:
Right-click the object to which you want to apply the animation.
Select Paste Animations.
