Instructors are unable to view the files submitted by users

In some cases, instructors do not see the files submitted by the users from the instructor’s page.

Below are steps to troubleshoot and fix the issue.

1. For example, learners are enrolled into an instance named ‘Test instance’ of a course as below and uploaded the file in the specific module :

2. When the instructor logins from his profile, he will not be able to see the files submitted.

3. The most common reason is that the instructor might not be having the access to the instance of the course. If the instructor is not set to that particular instance in which the learners are enrolled into, instructor will not be able to view the files submitted by those users. To  check whether the instructor is tagged to that instance of the course, navigate to that course>>Instance>>Click on session as below :

4. Instructor of that instance will be able to view the files submitted by the users from his instructor profile page :

5. Instructor can now approve the file submissions :

Note :

– While creating the file submission module from Author mode, the instructor who is added inside the module, is assigned as instructor for default instance automatically. For other instances which are created manually, we need to ensure that instructors are assigned correctly.
